PAN Misuse Sparks Rs 1.63 Crore GST Demand: Fake ‘Classic Enterprises’ Firm Triggers Police Case In Bhadohi

A case has recently emerged from Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, where a bogus Goods and Services Tax (GST) firm under the name "Classic Enterprises" has been reportedly created using the PAN card of an individual named Rajendra Pratap Singh.
A notice proposing a demand amounting to about Rs 16.3 million (approximately $1.63 million) was issued to the firm. Following this notice, a case was registered at the Bhadohi police station on the order of the Superintendent of Police.
Previously, the Superintendent of Police, Chavarnewada, had received a complaint letter from Rajendra Pratap Singh, wherein he stated that he came to know that his PAN had been misused to obtain a fraudulent GST registration in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in 2019. He claimed that he does not have any connection with this fake firm. Also, he did not know about his PAN misuse.
The complaint letter was furnished by Rajendra Pratap Singh to the GST Commissioner, Chennai, on December 02, 2019, urging the concerned authorities to take immediate action. However, despite this request, his PAN continued to be misused. Subsequently, on August 29, 2025, he received a notice from the Chennai GST office raising a tax demand of approximately Rs 16.3 million.
The police are presently taking all possible steps to investigate the present matter. According to the Kotwali in-charge Shailesh Kumar Rai, the case in the present matter was registered in the afternoon of Tuesday, August 25.
